Success Stories
Leasing space and quickly out-growing their location, the owners of Cascade Eye
Center constructed a new building to accommodate their business. Now located in
a convenient and highly visible spot, Cascade Eye Center made the right move to
utilize the long-term, low interest rate offered by the SBA 504 loan program.
“It was the perfect fit for our expansion project,” states Dr. Martin, one of
three owners of the business.
The construction of a new brew-pub facility was achieved when this brewing
company in central Oregon applied for and received an SBA 504 loan. According to
the general manager, Mr. Underwood, the SBA 504 loan program made this project
affordable and will allow for future business growth.
In 1988 David and Gloria Ego purchased Cottage
Flowers and by 1991 they had outgrown their downtown space. As they added more
gift lines and home decorating inventory they continued to grow until finally in
2000 they had to locate a building large enough to accommodate the retail store
and the eleven storage units being used to store the wedding rental furnishings
and fixtures.
Egos purchased the old armory building located in
Hermiston, Oregon. The new site provided the retail and storage space necessary
for the continued growth. In addition they were able to provide their clientele
a garden and courtyard for indoor and outdoor parties and receptions.
“GEODC and our Lender stepped us through the SBA 504
application process,” states Gloria Ego. The business is now in its 21st
year and the location is a perfect fit.
